Partnering for health, security, and safety — for every mile, every race, every jockey.

— Partnering for jockey benefits

industry partnership agreements

Since 2007, the Guild has paid over $15 million in direct benefits to jockeys.

Through funds received under the industry partnership agreements, the Guild provides its members with various benefits including life insurance, AD&D insurance and temporary disability, and to subsidize or in some other way provide health care benefits, including physical and mental wellness, and reimbursements for approved safety equipment for qualifying active members.

Additionally, the Guild is able to provide life insurance and aid to the permanently disabled members, which is separate from the benefits provided to qualifying members by the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF).

The Guild is also committed to utilizing the contributions made by tracks to support health and safety benefits for jockeys and their dependents, as well as continuing with research and development, establishing safety protocols for all jockeys, and implementing mental health and wellness programs for the racing industry in general.

Jockeys qualify based on the mounts as determined in the individual agreements. The amount that the qualifying jockeys receive varies each year.  Funds for the reimbursements are distributed to qualifying jockeys during the following calendar year in which the funds are received by the Guild from the participating racetrack.
