The talented, quiet, and personable journeymen led all North American jockeys by number of wins last week with nine, including four of his five mounts on Friday night at Hollywood Casino At Charles Town Races.
In addition to maintaining a 53% win rate for the week, Bocachica also hit the board on 71% of his mounts.
The Puerto Rican started his winning ways on Thursday with three victories at his home track. He continued to enter the winners circle on the opener of Friday's card aboard Lady Rebel ($5.20) taking the mare gate to wire for a three-length victory. The rider continued to stay on a roll winning the 4th race, a four- and one-half furlong Allowance Sprint, piloting the six-year-old Northern Afleet gelding, Aaron's Tap ($4.20) for leading trainer Jeff Runco. Returning in the next race for the same conditioner, aboard Star Night ($2.60) and winning convincingly in the Maiden Special Weight. Bocachica completed his last riding assignment for the evening by winning his third race in succession aboard the claimer, Gallanor ($5.00) for Phil Schoenthal.
To top the weekend off, Bocachica won the first race on Saturday's card aboard Drew ($3.80) for James Chapman and finished the night by winning an Allowance race aboard Sangria Sweet ($3.00) for Kevin Patterson.
With 22 wins to start the year from 70 starts, he added $131,149 to his total career lifetime earnings. In an impressive career, he's been victorious 1,810 times out of 8,966 starts with his mounts earning a total of $31,088,383 to date.
